redyeing

Tinting fabric twice

Redyeing is the process of dyeing something again, typically fabric, yarn, or hair that has already been colored.

The prefix re- indicates repetition—you redye when the original color has faded, turned out wrong, or needs changing: She's redyeing her hair back to its natural brown.
