overdye
Add more pigment
To overdye is to dye something that has already been dyed, either to deepen the existing color or to change it by layering a new hue over the old: She overdyed the faded jeans to restore their color.
The technique is common in textile work, where overdyeing can create rich, complex tones or rescue garments whose original dye has worn unevenly.
