recurse
Call itself again
To recurse is to apply a procedure repeatedly, with each iteration operating on the result of the previous one.
The term belongs primarily to computing and mathematics, where a function that calls itself is recursive: The algorithm recurses through each subdirectory until it finds the file.
More casually, recurse describes any self-referential or repeating process.
