rebore
Widen a cylinder
To rebore is to bore out again—specifically, to enlarge the cylinder of an engine by machining it to a larger diameter.
This restores a worn engine or increases displacement: The mechanic rebored the block to accept oversized pistons.
As a noun, a rebore is the procedure itself or the newly machined cylinder.
