ranged weapons
Shoot from afar
Ranged weapons are designed to strike targets from a distance, as opposed to melee weapons used in close combat.
The category includes bows, crossbows, firearms, and thrown weapons like spears and knives.
In gaming, ranged weapons often define character classes and combat strategies: The archer switched to a sword when enemies closed the distance.
