rainwash
Cloudburst surface erosion
Rainwash is the erosion and movement of soil or surface material by rainfall, or the material itself that has been transported downslope by rain.
In geology and soil science, rainwash describes the sheet flow of water across land during heavy precipitation: The hillside showed clear signs of rainwash.
The term also applies to the sediment deposited by this process.
