quote marks
Dialogue boundary symbols
Quote marks are punctuation marks that set off quoted speech, titles, or words used in a special sense.
In American English, double quotes ("...") are standard, with single quotes ('...') for quotes within quotes; British practice often reverses this.
Also called quotation marks.
She said "hello" and left.
