queue system
Orderly line management
A queue system is any method for managing the order in which people or tasks are served.
In its simplest form, it's first come, first served—customers wait in line at a deli counter or callers hold for the next available representative.
More sophisticated queue systems assign priority, distribute workload across servers, or route requests based on type: The hospital's queue system triages patients by severity.
In computing, queue systems manage background jobs, message processing, and task scheduling.
