primula
Cowslip's garden cousin
Primula is a genus of flowering plants commonly called primroses, typically blooming in early spring with clusters of colorful flowers.
The name comes from Latin for "first"—these are among the first flowers to appear after winter.
Primulas are popular in gardens and as potted plants: The primulas along the walkway were just starting to bloom.
