press gaggle

Informal journalist gathering

A press gaggle is an informal briefing where reporters cluster around a government official or spokesperson, typically without cameras or formal podiums.

Unlike structured press conferences, gaggles are more conversational and often happen impromptu—in hallways, on airplane flights, or before scheduled events.

The White House press secretary held a quick gaggle before boarding Air Force One.
