Reporter-official Q&A session
A press briefing is a meeting where an official or spokesperson provides information to journalists and answers their questions.
Unlike press conferences, briefings tend to be routine and relatively brief—the White House holds daily press briefings, for instance.
The press secretary gave a briefing on the new policy.
