press-up
Prone strength movement
A press-up is the British term for what Americans call a push-up—an exercise where you lie face down, place your hands beneath your shoulders, and push your body up by straightening your arms: I do fifty press-ups every morning.
The name describes the motion: pressing the body up from the floor.
