preflights
Checks before takeoff
Preflights are checks or inspections performed before an operation begins.
Pilots conduct preflights before takeoff, examining aircraft systems and controls.
The term extends to any preparatory verification: Run your preflights before we launch the campaign.
In software, preflight checks validate conditions before executing a process.
As a verb, to preflight is to perform such an inspection.
