prayer plant
Leaves fold nightly
Prayer plant is a tropical houseplant with patterned leaves that fold upward at night, resembling hands pressed together in prayer.
The leaves lie flat during the day and rise in the evening, a movement called nyctinasty.
Native to Brazilian rainforests, prayer plants are popular for their striking foliage: The prayer plant's leaves closed up as the sun went down.
