powder horns
Musketeer's supply holders
Powder horns are containers made from hollowed animal horns, historically used to carry gunpowder for muzzle-loading firearms.
The horn's natural shape—wide at one end, narrow at the other—made it ideal for storing powder and pouring measured amounts into a gun barrel.
Hunters and soldiers carried them on straps.
Antique powder horns, often decorated with carved designs, are now collectibles.
