postludes

Music after service

Postludes are concluding pieces of music, especially organ compositions played at the end of a church service as the congregation departs.

The term contrasts with prelude—what comes before.

By extension, a postlude can be any concluding phase or aftermath: The party's postlude was a quiet hour of cleanup.
