postdating
Marking later than today
Postdating means assigning a date later than the actual one.
A postdated check bears a future date, delaying when it can be cashed: She postdated the rent check to Friday.
The term also describes something that comes after another in time: The manuscript postdates the author's death by several years.
The opposite is antedating.
