polluted
Fouled by waste
Polluted describes something contaminated by harmful or undesirable substances.
Water, air, and soil become polluted when toxins enter them: The river was too polluted to swim in.
The word extends to corruption of what should be pure: a polluted mind, polluted discourse.
In older slang, polluted meant drunk.
