polio drops
Swallowed disease prevention
Polio drops are an oral vaccine against poliomyelitis, administered as liquid drops directly into the mouth—typically given to infants and young children.
The oral form made mass immunization campaigns practical in developing countries, where refrigeration and trained medical staff were scarce: Health workers went door to door administering polio drops.
The term appears most often in South Asian English.
