plus-one
Invited companion allowed
A plus-one is a guest you bring to an event, typically a party, wedding, or formal gathering where invitations allow for an unnamed companion: The invitation says I can bring a plus-one.
The term comes from RSVP cards where guests indicate they're attending "plus one." It often implies a romantic partner but can be any companion: I need a plus-one for my office holiday party.
