playhouses
Toy buildings outside
Playhouses are theaters—buildings where plays are performed.
The word evokes traditional or historic venues: The Globe was Shakespeare's playhouse.
A playhouse is also a small structure for children to play in, either a miniature house in a backyard or an indoor tent-like enclosure: We built the kids a playhouse out of cardboard boxes.
