picturebooks
Stories with drawings
Picturebooks are books in which illustrations carry as much narrative weight as text, or more.
The term typically refers to children's books where images and words work together to tell a story: She read picturebooks to her toddler every night.
Written as one word or two (picture books), the form is a distinct genre rather than simply any book containing pictures.
