pearlware

Blue-tinged white ceramics

Pearlware is a type of refined earthenware with a slightly bluish-white glaze, developed in late 18th-century England as a cheaper alternative to porcelain.

The glaze contains cobalt oxide, giving it a pearly tint that distinguished it from the cream-colored creamware it largely replaced.

Pearlware was widely used for everyday dishes and decorative pieces through the mid-19th century.
