overhead view
Looking straight down
An overhead view shows something from directly above, looking straight down—as if you were a bird or camera suspended in the air.
The perspective flattens depth and reveals spatial relationships: The overhead view of the maze made the solution obvious.
Common in maps, architectural plans, and sports broadcasts.
Also called a bird's-eye view.
