An outdoor run is an enclosed space attached to a coop, kennel, or hutch that allows animals to move freely outside while remaining contained: The chickens have access to an outdoor run during the day.
The term applies most often to poultry but extends to rabbits, dogs, and other kept animals.
In some contexts, outdoor run simply describes any running done outside rather than on a treadmill.
