outdoor range
Open-air firing area
An outdoor range is a facility for shooting practice or competition in an open-air setting, as opposed to an enclosed indoor range.
Outdoor ranges typically allow for longer distances and larger caliber firearms: The club's outdoor range has stations at 100, 200, and 500 yards.
The term also applies to archery facilities.
