paper target
Range practice silhouette
A paper target is a sheet printed with scoring rings, silhouettes, or other aiming points, used for firearms practice or archery.
The term extends figuratively to someone set up for easy criticism or attack—a person made vulnerable by circumstance or design: The new policy made the mayor a paper target for his opponents.
