out-of-print books
No longer published
Books no longer being produced by their publisher.
When a title sells poorly or a publisher loses interest, they stop printing new copies, making remaining stock finite.
Out-of-print books may still be found in used bookstores, libraries, or online secondhand markets: I finally tracked down an out-of-print book on Victorian glassmaking.
Digital publishing and print-on-demand have made the designation less final than it once was.
