otterhound
Webbed-footed scenthound
A large, shaggy-coated hound originally bred in England to hunt otters.
Otterhounds have webbed feet and a keen sense of smell, suited for tracking prey in water.
The breed is now rare, as otter hunting was banned in Britain in the late twentieth century.
The otterhound's rough double coat protects it in cold water.
