open hand
Fingers spread wide
An open hand is a hand with fingers extended rather than curled into a fist.
The phrase often describes how a blow is delivered: She slapped him with an open hand.
Figuratively, an open hand suggests generosity or welcome—offering rather than grasping: They greeted us with open hands.
