open-notes
Bring your notes
Open-notes describes a test or exam where students may consult their own notes but typically not textbooks or other materials: The midterm is open-notes but not open-book.
It occupies a middle ground between closed-book exams and fully open-book ones, rewarding students who took good notes during the course.
