display name
Visible user label
A display name is the name shown to others in digital contexts—on social media profiles, in chat applications, or within software systems.
Unlike usernames, which are often fixed identifiers, display names can typically be changed freely and may include spaces, emojis, or special characters: Her display name was "Sarah ✨" but her username was sarah_jones_92.
Display names let users present themselves however they wish while the system tracks them by a separate identifier.
