fake profile
Fraudulent online identity
A fake profile is a social media or dating account created under a false identity.
People create fake profiles to deceive others—for catfishing, scams, harassment, or simply anonymity.
Platforms constantly remove fake profiles, though they proliferate faster than enforcement can catch them: She realized she'd been talking to a fake profile for months.
