Onion seeds are the small black seeds of the onion plant, used for growing onions or as a spice.
In South Asian cooking, they appear as a topping on naan bread and in spice blends: She sprinkled onion seeds over the flatbread before baking.
Also called nigella seeds or kalonji, though botanically unrelated to onions.
