olive press
Drupe crushing device
An olive press is a device for extracting oil from olives, traditionally consisting of a large stone wheel that crushes the fruit and a mechanism that applies pressure to squeeze oil from the pulp.
Ancient presses used wooden beams weighted with stones; modern versions are hydraulic or centrifugal.
The archaeological site included a well-preserved olive press.
