cheese press
Whey-expelling device
A cheese press is a device that applies pressure to cheese curds, expelling whey and compacting the curds into a solid wheel or block.
Traditional presses use weighted levers or screws; modern versions may be hydraulic.
The pressing stage determines the cheese's final texture—longer pressing under greater weight produces firmer, denser cheese.
