offensive guards
Blocking linemen inside
Offensive guards are football players positioned on either side of the center on the offensive line.
Their primary job is blocking—protecting the quarterback on passing plays and creating running lanes for the ball carrier.
Guards must be strong enough to hold the line and quick enough to pull across the formation on sweep plays.
The offensive guards opened a hole for the running back.
