nonattachment

Release from clinging

Nonattachment is a state of mind in which one engages with life without clinging to outcomes, possessions, or relationships.

Central to Buddhist and Stoic philosophy, it doesn't mean indifference or withdrawal—rather, experiencing things fully while accepting their impermanence: Nonattachment allowed her to love deeply without fear of loss.

The practice aims to reduce suffering caused by grasping at what cannot be held.
