news satire
Funny fake headlines
News satire is comedy that mimics the format and conventions of legitimate journalism—anchors at desks, headlines, on-location reporters—while delivering fabricated or exaggerated stories for humorous effect.
Shows like *The Daily Show* and *The Onion* use the authoritative trappings of news to mock politicians, media, and current events.
News satire often conveys genuine criticism beneath the jokes: I get more truth from news satire than actual news.
