Daily Show
Comedy news program
The Daily Show is an American late-night television program that satirizes news and current events through mock-serious commentary and interviews.
Launched in 1996 and made famous under Jon Stewart's tenure, it pioneered a format blending comedy with political critique that influenced how younger audiences consume news: I get more actual insight from The Daily Show than cable news.
The show has become shorthand for satirical news coverage generally.
