music note
Symbol for sound
A music note is a symbol in written music representing a single sound—its pitch indicated by position on the staff, its duration by the note's shape.
Quarter notes, half notes, and whole notes differ in how long they're held.
The term also refers to the sound itself: She sang each music note perfectly.
