music collective
Collaborative sound group
A music collective is a group of musicians, producers, or other artists who collaborate under a shared identity while often maintaining individual careers.
Unlike a band, members may rotate through projects, contribute to each other's work, and release material under both the collective name and their own: The hip-hop collective has spawned several solo careers.
Collectives often share creative philosophy, studio space, or a label.
