move-in date
Tenancy commencement day
The move-in date is when someone takes possession of a residence—the day you can start living there.
Lease agreements and home purchases specify this date, which determines when keys change hands and rent or mortgage payments begin: Our move-in date is the first of the month.
Also used for office spaces and other rentals.
