molar teeth

Rear chewing surfaces

Molar teeth are the large, flat teeth at the back of the mouth used for grinding food.

Humans develop two sets: deciduous molars in childhood, replaced by premolars, and permanent molars that emerge later, including wisdom teeth.

The term is slightly redundant since molars are by definition teeth, but appears in anatomical and dental contexts for clarity.
