Modded describes something that has been modified, especially video games or electronics altered beyond their original specifications.
A modded game might have new characters, levels, or mechanics added by players rather than developers.
A modded console can run unauthorized software.
The term comes from gaming culture but applies to any customized version of hardware or software: He's running a heavily modded version of Skyrim.
