misunderestimation
Badly gauging low
Misunderestimation is the act of underestimating someone or something—a blend of *misunderstand* and *underestimate* that entered public consciousness through George W.
Bush's use of it in 2000: They misunderestimated me.
Though coined as a malapropism, the word has stuck around as a humorous or ironic way to describe being doubted or dismissed.
