mispronouncing
Bungling the articulation
Mispronouncing is saying a word incorrectly—getting the sounds, stress, or syllables wrong.
The word appears in progressive constructions: She keeps mispronouncing my name, I've been mispronouncing "quinoa" for years.
Everyone mispronounces unfamiliar words; the embarrassment comes from mispronouncing common ones.
