minor pieces

Chess's lighter units

In chess, the minor pieces are the bishops and knights, distinguished from the major pieces (rooks and queen).

Each minor piece is generally valued at about three pawns, making them roughly equivalent to each other, though bishops gain value in open positions and knights in closed ones.

I traded a minor piece for two pawns.
