miniaturists
Small-scale model makers
Miniaturists are artists who create miniatures—very small, finely detailed paintings or other artworks.
The term most often refers to painters of portrait miniatures, popular from the sixteenth through nineteenth centuries, or to those who illuminate manuscripts with intricate decoration.
The miniaturists of the Persian court produced some of history's most exquisite book illustrations.
