millenarians
Expecting Christ's reign
Millenarians believe in a coming thousand-year period of radical transformation—typically Christ's return and reign on earth, as prophesied in the Book of Revelation.
The term extends to any group expecting an imminent, dramatic upheaval that will remake society: Millenarians gathered on the hillside, awaiting the end.
The singular is millenarian; the related noun is millenarianism.
